EST-SUN Power Rankings
Contenders
1) Sasquatch (12–2)
Barring the results of the Ecl9ipse and goatsatan series, potentially has played (and beaten) 8 different playoff teams.
2) Matieu (10–4)
Now joins the doss team as one of the only teams with an all immortal tricore. Also gotten a huge contribution from resident sandbagger, bloo, who’s had a ridiculously good season in the 4 position.
3) Logical (9–5)
At times can feel like Logical vs the world, but Fury and Smack have put in very good performances throughout the season, if all 3 can click they can and will take games off anyone.
4) Fume (10–4)
Like a phoenix rising from the ashes, from being placed in the bottom 3 of my 1st power rankings, they find themselves in the top 5 in the final power rankings. The biggest difference from then and now is impact their 4 and 5 combo of Tiggles and Moo are having and how well they’ve played the last 6 weeks.
5) Dark (9–5)
Much like the Logical team, some games can devolve into Dark vs 5, but the team is built around that more than the Logical stack and the other 4 players on the Dark stack are very evenly skilled with few weaknesses between them.
Playoff Locks
6) Lala (9–5)
Hesitant to place them this high as they’re having a roster change in the last week of the season, but I have faith that Lala can take this team far.
7) Pishtya (8–6)
Has had a rough last 3 weeks, going 1–5, but have faced Lala, Trav2s, and Sasquatch teams during that time. Have a more favorable match-up against a still strong BobbyPMA team that should be telling for them going into playoffs.
8) ColonelSquid (9–5)
Squid has put his disastrous series against the Econ stack behind him and has helped his team go 6–2 since. The team has strong pos 3–5 players to fall back on if Squid decides to pick himself meepo or if Jah has a rough lane.
9) thamaestro (9–5)
After an average 5–5 start to the season, have been lights out since, going 4–0 in the last 2 weeks. Although they haven’t played the best of teams, they will have a huge test against Lala team this week.
10) Econ (8–6)
Had a midseason hiccup as they dropped 2 games in back to back weeks, although both to good teams in Pishtya and BobbyPMA. Has since role swapped (sort of) and had a solid 3–1 record since.
11) USDanny (8–6)
Outside of getting bent over in 2 series against 2 top teams in Dark and Logical, the team has been solid (8–2). Unfortunately will not get another shot at a top team until playoffs begin.
12) W.Stealer (9–5)
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Medusa spammers BOOOOOOOOOOO. Have found out how to play as a team and have been on a 5 game win streak going into the final week as well as a very good tiebreaker record as they 2–0'd the Fume stack.
13) DrSteel (8–6)
Has finally gotten the monkey off their backs and taken a series 2–0 for the first time this season last week against the Brightside team. Looks to be in good shape as a team heading into playoffs and should lock it up this week given their ability to take at least 1 game off their opponents this season.
14) BobbyPMA (8–6)
Week 7 isn’t the most ideal time of the season for your first 0–2 loss, but they can find solace in the fact that they had a stand in for their 1st round pick as well as were playing the hottest team at the moment in the Fume stack. In week 8 they drew possibly the coldest team in EST-SUN, the Pishtya stack, potentially allowing them to lock in playoffs.
15) CC (8–6)
Definitely lower due to external issues rather than skill or team cohesion, but the Alc rage quit last week is a bit concerning as they’re looking to secure a slot in playoffs. Will be tough to hold together as they face a pesky DrSteel team, but hopefully for the CC team HullCity tries to 1v1 a witch doctor and feeds first blood again.
16) Envi (7–7)
Despite a fairly poor 3–5 record over the last 4 weeks, they got stuck with a rough Fume draw as well as having to play against 2 high mmr stand ins in 2 of the 3 last weeks which can always throw things in a funk when preparing for a team. Have a really interesting match up this week against an equally strong AcidRain stack for playoff chances.
17) Captain Pepega (8–6)
One of the hotter teams in the division as they’ve gone an impressive 6–2 over the past 4 weeks. Although they came from a low record and 2 of those wins are over recently disbanded Tiramisu team, they grabbed a very impressive 2–0 over goatsatan as well as a 1–1 with Dark team. Wax will need to continue his run of form as his team plays Econ team this week.
18) AcidRain (7–7)
A tale of 2 halves this season as after starting a rough 1–5, they’ve gone 6–2 since, giving them a chance at playoffs this season. Although they drew a tough Envi stack, the best 7–7 team in my opinion, I think they have a good chance of making playoffs with the week 9 play ins.
19) Mu (7–7)
The Mu stack has gotten fairly unfavorable draws with matchups so far this season as they’ve managed to play Matieu, Trav2s, USDanny, and Colonel Squid stacks the week after those teams dropped games. All 4 of those teams are top tier teams in my opinion. Despite that, they’ve performed well in those games and have put themselves in a good spot to get into playoffs with a win or 2 this weekend.
20) INSANE CORNDOG (8–6)
Although the 6–0 in the last 3 weeks looks good on paper, 2 of those wins are a forfeit from Tiramisu, as well as 2 wins from the walking skeleton of a team, the Calamity stack. An impressive 2–0 against the Ecl9ipse team last week give me hope that regardless of result this weekend against a strong USDanny team, that they can play their way into playoffs.
Bubble Tier
21. DJ Dingus (7–7)
An even 5–5 in their last 5 weeks leads me to believe they’ll keep the streak going this week against the Bestpinoza team. Despite some funky drafts so far this season, they’ve had close games in all of their series so far and I’d bet on them finding their way into playoffs.
22. doss (7–7)
A rough 0–2 last week against thamaestro team has them sitting 1 win off guaranteeing a chance for the play ins during week 9. Week 8 has them against a surprisingly good avgpeen team.
23. Alpha (7–7)
After a roster shuffle with a new midlaner coming in, replacing their captain bearcat0611, as well as a week without their new captain, Alpha, the team finally got a series together as the new roster last week. They managed a 1–1 against a good Envi team which bodes well for their chances going into week 8 and potentially week 9.
24. avgpeen (7–7)
The surprise team of the season for me and for many others as many had them written off at the start as a last/near last place team, but here they are in the thick of things. Although Vinny will be the highest mmr in the server for their week 8 matchup, he’s facing an immortal tricore from the doss team in what will be a close series as I have these teams neck and neck in my rankings.
25. Bestpinoza (7–7)
The last of the 7 win teams in my rankings as this team has devolved into a 4 protect 1 as apex tries his best to carry his team to a win, starting to play more farm oriented carries like Spectre and Terror Blade. Jett and Gio have put in good performances throughout the season and the team is definitely good enough to make playoffs.
26. The Clamburglar (6–8)
Despite going an even 3–3 in the last 3 weeks, the results look promising as they’re coming into week 8 on a 3 game win steak as well as drawing against the FrenZyy stack who is 2–6 in the last 4 weeks.
27. Wizard of Chaos (6–8)
An unfortunate disband from the agony team snapped their 5 game losing streak, but Wizard has been Wizardposting in discord much more frequently this past week which can only mean that he’s powering up for a potential playoff push. A favorable matchup with the Ecl9ipse team this week, who I think they match up very well against, has them looking to do just that.
28. Rusy (6–8)
Rusy and Remster have been playing musical roles the last few weeks, but I think they’ve finally settled with Remster 1, Rusy 2. Will be interesting to see if that continues this week as they play against Brightside who will inevitably pick dazzle or wyvern mid against them with the sole purpose of trying to ruin Rusy’s game.
29. Ecl9ipse (6–8)
A disastrous last 4 weeks had them going 1–7 as they struggle their way into week 8 against the Wizard of Chaos stack. I personally don’t like their chances against that stack, but Skkip should be able to have a nice game from the mid lane as long as the supports aren’t allowed to rotate on him freely.
30. goatsatan (6–8)
A tough set of losses as in their last 4 losses they’ve gotten rolled over by an alchemist in 15 minutes, got the Chester Clinkz treatment, lost a 70 minute marathon, and had a Wax TA go 22–2 against them. Week 8 has them against a formidable Iceyeti team.
31. FrenZyy (6–8)
After looking like a top team going into the 2nd half of the season, they’ve dropped 6 games in their last 8 and are a long shot to make playoffs. With almost an all immortal tricore (congrats on immortal FrenZyy), they have the skill to take games off anyone and if they can get into the play ins, I’d favor their team in a BO3 over almost any other 8–8 team.
32. Iceyeti (6–8)
Luckily Izumi got to play against Brightside so he can practice against playing against an unorthodox midlaner as they play the FooSquash stack this week. Other than a rough series last week against a very good USDanny stack, their results have been hit or miss thus far and they’ll need to play almost flawlessly to make it into playoffs.
33. Brightside (6–8)
Brightside and being on a bubble team going into week 8, name a more iconic duo. Will have his work cut out for him as he’s most likely going up against Rusy in the midlane this week, so a lot of pressure will be on Gentleman Bastard to carry them should the game get to the late game.
Outside Looking In
34. Voldrox (5–9)
Unfortunately the replacement for iTz-Pat came a week or 2 too late as since he’s gotten replaced they are 3–1. Hopefully situations like this don’t arise in the future and if a player is actively grieving your team you let admins know about it before it’s too late.
35. Sebastian (5–9)
With a longshot to make playoffs, their season will end on hopefully a good note as Minicolt gets a chance to beat his brother in a series this weekend. If they 2–0 there’s a (albeit small) chance they can play their way into playoffs as a 7–9 team.
36. 7EMPEST (5–9)
The Alpaca pos 3 wasn’t enough this season as this team lost quite a few extremely close and extremely long matches this season, including 2–3 that they threw quite hard.
37. Reedy (5–9)
The Subject RD2L experiment has failed once again as his team sits 3 games out of a guaranteed spot to play their way into playoffs. Unfortunate for Sonnegod as he tried his best to carry his SIX THOUSAND MMR offlaner, but unfortunately couldn’t.
38. Quantum Jojo (5–9)
Read: Sebastian Team.
39. Kira (4–10)
Their season is over as they drew the final BYE of the season.
40. Calamity (3–11)
This team picked techies for Sickboy twice last week, that about sums things up. Hopefully they’re at least having fun and games aren’t miserable to play.
Trav2s
41. Trav2s (12–2)
God this captain has the smallest penis.
